On Ringo Lake–Rapid Fire Part 7!

Oh, THIS little elf is not done with Christmas yet, and have I ever got something up my sleeve for you as we bring in the New Year!!

Hold on to your hats (and rotary cutters) my friends, it’s going to be a wild wild, rapid finish!

Short clues, one each day, getting us closer to that reveal!

Are you ready??

As we do this I want to suggest that we keep the spirit of this mystery alive by KEEPING it a mystery.

You are welcome to think your own thoughts, speculating about what this quilt might look like when done, but please do not post your ideas to your blog or other social media until after the reveal, okay?

We have folks diligently working to get their units done, and no one likes a spoiler.

Don’t be that kid who tells someone still wrapped in wonder that there really is no Santa Claus.

Let's not read the last page of that edge-of-your-seat novel out loud to those who are just beginning.

2geese1

200 double-goose units!

Part 7 is simply simple!  Join brown flying geese to coral/melon flying geese from parts 2 and 5, making sure that the brown geese take bottom position!  Press seams toward the coral/melon geese.

Units will measure 3 1/2’’ and finish at 3’’ in the quilt.

My two piles of geese are ready - Chain, baby chain!

20170820_124925

200 pairs!  Whew!

Oh, isn’t this fun?  I’m giddy with unpredictability!

Sadie says:

“Good job! Now we wait for what comes NEXT! Just when will it be? Why, just wait and see!”

Quiltville Quote of the Day!
(I love how this is almost On Ringo Lake Colors!)

No one can do it for you, and taking a back seat won’t get you there, either!

2018 is going to be a wild ride, but let’s do it!

What a fun way to finish, Bonnie! You always seem to have new and exciting things up your sleeve and as this takes us one step closer to the reveal, we will all sit on pins and needles these next few days. Thank you, thank you for "On Ringo Lake."

yes! a new clue, I was wondering how I was going to finish out the new year in sub zero temps! Now I won't have to leave the sewing room at all! Hook me up to an IV and crank up the audiobooks. I'm in my happy place.

Wow what a great surprise this morning! It is way too cold to go out and do anything else so I guess I'll just have to sew some. Ha.
Thanks, Bonnie!

Oh, how fun and exciting! Thank you. Now I will have to get busy and finish clue #5. I was having fun keeping up but took time off for Christmas gatherings so got a little behind. No problem, I will finish when I finish and am enjoying the process. This has been my first of your mystery quilts and I am loving it. Will definitely be ready to join in next year!

But, but, but my 6 year old granddaughter is here. I can't sew today and (sniff, sniffle) I'm still working on clue 4, with 5 cut out. That's okay. Not everyday can be a granddaughter day. I'll take them first and my clues will ring in the New Year. Hope everyone is enjoying the fun!

Bonnie, I love this so far. Thank you, thank you for saying please dont spoil the mystery! I am on another quilting site and have told them that I have put a few on my ignore list so as to not ruin the mystery as they seem to feel the need to post pictures of what it will be or look like. The last two years it has really bothered me.

You are a real gem, thank you for all you do. You make my holiday season such a happy time.

Haha, I thought you might surprise us with another clue on the 1st, but you are even faster! And I thought these pieces would go together, but with brown on top. Hmmm....

Brandy Pettit said...

Oh aren't you tricky! LOL By the way, thank you for the clues, I just went through the last couple days to catch up on the downloads. I am loving seeing everyone's pieces coming together!

I’m still finishing up #3. Love the clues. They are so clear and I have learned so much. Learning how to use my measuring “tools” and get better 1/4 in seams! These MQ’s have been such great lessons for me and beautiful quilts also! Using up lots of my stash and scraps. I’m a very happy quilter thanks to You Bonnie❤️‼️

SEW... Since you said that we should keep the mystery a mystery...
Does this mean that Part 7 should NOT be included in the next link-up???

Sandra G Adger said...

Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie....I LOVE your energy!!! I really mean that; you help me to say "keep going, Bonnie is sewing..get up and SEW". Those are words I play in my head. God bless you and your family. xoxoxo

Wow what a surprise! I can’t wait to finish curt clue 5. I want to move on. Thank you Bonnie 😊

Phyllis Baas said...

I love seeing the guesses but it is your mystery. I also guess at mysteries and discuss them with others so even that doesn't bother me. Your response makes me think someone got it right, sorry about that but we won't know it until you tell it how they really go together. Thanks for the additional clue.

Dalina Stevens said...

What a surprise! I was downstairs sewing on clue 5 when my son-in-law called and I had to stop and come upstairs. So I decided to check blog and wow! I still have to sew up clue 3 & 4, but with the frigid weather in MO I am going to sewing away! Maybe I can almost get caught up this weekend with getting to stay home on Monday from work.

Marcie Redeker said...

WOWOWOW!!! When I saw Clue 6 I thought "oh, that will take no time...and then I'll have to wait for next Friday!!???" SO HAPPY to see we have a clue-a-day, or something like that, coming! Thank you so much Bonnie, for all you do! Your mystery quilt is the highlight of my Christmas season each year. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Yowie! This is a surprise! And to think I spent the morning cleaning the garage instead of checking my your blog first!! Oh well, happy sewing planned for this evening!

Bonnie W said...

This is my first mystery quilt. I am really enjoying it.
I ran out of coral/melon fabric for clue 6. I only had enough for 150 triangles. So off to buy more. I only have about half of clue 5 finished although all is cut out.
So clue 7 will have to wait until I finish clues 5 and 6.

sewingnancy said...

LOL You have social media buzzing now. There's a new clue! Pass it on!

Donna Endresen said...

OH Bonnie- You are being sneaky! BUT, we love it. It gives people something new to work on each day until reveal! Alas, I am not working on this at this time. I am working on UFO's as I need to get my sewing room somewhat organized. BUT, I have my paint chips for when I get time to start a new mystery project. I am still working on En Provence, Allietare, Texas Tumbleweeds and Smith Mountain Mornings. And those are just yours that I have started.

But, I love following the clues and seeing others progress! Happy New Year!

Personally, I'm sad. I love the quilt but was looking forward to enjoying the steps to combat the after Christmas slump. Instead, the surprise is all gone...
