These quilty people just keep on making life SO much fun!
I think that is the BEST part of what I do, this crazy traveling quilty life.
My journey is so enriched when it crosses the paths of others and our circle grows as we connect with their journeys as well!
And it is such a small small world when we think of it!
These lovely ladies are from Whidbey Island, Washington. They actually KNOW Irene’s mom because she lives on Whidbey!
I have always wanted to visit Whidbey, and we are plotting and planning to make it happen!
It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know these girls and I look forward to seeing them in the future!
If they are in the midst, you can just bet there will be chuckling and right out peels of laughter!
Awesome blocks coming together!
Fussy cuts from fabric found on this trip!
Stitching, chatting, solving all the world’s problems!
The happy smiles of a serial chain piecer!
Yesterday was our last full day at sea workshop day. And we sewed it up from beginning to end! So many units, so many blocks, so many possibilities – but the best part is the friendships!
Irene and Patricia!
The pressing posse!
Almost a quilt top!
Loving all of the fabric choices!
One funny giggle – The quilt shops in Juneau and Skagway also carried quilter’s tshirts with an Alaskan theme. We had TWO TEAMS of shirt wearing quilters!
Team “Otter Be Quilting!”
Team Kuspuk Girls!
And on they quilted, until at last it was time to pack it up and put it away!
Card Playing on the Balcony!
When I was at last packed up and headed out, I stopped by my mom’s cabin to find mom and her sisters laughing like young girls over a game of cut-throat Russian Rummy on their balcony in the sun!
So happy they have had such a wonderful time. I was worried about not getting enough time with them, but we have grabbed every spare moment we could, and mom spent quite a bit of time with me in the classroom, chatting to students while I was busy teaching. It was really fun having her here, just participating in what an “average” work day is like for her eldest daughter!
We ended the evening by catching a fantastic ball room dancing production in the theater, and when that was done, at just a bit past 9pm, I was so tired I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Off to bed I went.
And it’s a good thing because the fog horns started sounding at just before 6am this morning. There are many things I can sleep through, but fog horns were NEVER on the list! LOL!
View from my balcony.
I’m sure Victoria BC is out there somewhere, and we will find it!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage quilt found in North Carolina.
Truth! Plain and simple!
Thankful for new friendships formed this week, and existing relationships strengthened!
As stated so eloquently by the fab 4: "I get by with a little help from my friends!"
As do we all! Happy Thursday, everyone!

Looks like loads of fun on the cruise. Not to mention the scenery. Again, thanks for the virtual trip.
And if any of you ladies from Whidbey see this, please send an email off to me. I am fairly new to the island and would love to find other quilters or a group to sew with. Thanks in advance.
How come, I am so distracted by the patchy flooring.... could bet there is some mystery coming up with these hooks, hst's and colors =^}
Seeing all those girls having the time of their life makes me happy 2!
love from Witmarsum,
Irene
What a trip, grandest group of ladies, and your Mum and family having a great time, that is true happiness.Love the blocks .
So funny! We are camped on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, across from Victoria and I was awakened by fog horns this morning! I wonder if it was Bonnie's ship. The day turned beautiful and clear & am relaxing in the sun and catching up on all of Bonnie's blog posts since she left NC and I left home in Salem, OR. One of theses days I will be on a Bonnie cruise, not sure when.
What a great cruise you had Bonnie with family and friends.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Our son and daughter in law was staying with us this week and they are on the way back to TX.
We was very early at the beach and I hope to walk with our Pooch Levi on Sunday. Love the blocks everyone made.
Thanks for sharing your blessings with us. Happy trip home,
Yoka Bazilewich
Looks like you and the girls are having a great time on your cruise.
