Michigan, Pure Michigan!
Even with temps below 40 degrees, it was an absolutely beautifully clear day here along the Old Mission Peninsula!
Susan, Linda and I had made plans to spend our “free day” exploring and giving me a better feel for the area. Bay on both sides!! And oh so blue when the sun shines. There are wineries galore, and this area in Michigan has more cherry trees than anywhere else I’ve ever seen.
How I would love to be here at the end of April into early May when the millions of trees are in full bloom with the hum of bees on the breeze.
Look at this! NO SNOW!
And the jacket is unzipped!
The other direction, to the east!
Absolutely breath taking! I definitely need to come back in the summer when things are green. SO much to see and do!
Find a barn quilt or two!
Of course up here there would be CHERRIES!
My soul can breathe here in the countryside!
Oh, I love this!
We filled our day full with an antique mall, lunch out at the Bad Dog Cafe, even toured the Village at Grand Traverse, an 1890s asylum now converted to shops, restaraunts, a cheese cake bakery, public functions, and so much more. This was the coolest place ever, with still a bit of a creepy past to make it interesting. Photos of the antique mall finds and the asylum to come! LOL!
Last night’s lecture crowd!
Chairs are filling full!
We had a great turn out and such a great evening. Today we are gearing up for 40 students in our Jared Takes a Wife workshop. It’s a glorious suny day this morning and I am just so tickled to be here.
Good Morning from my window!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Choose today to live by choice, not by chance. Choose self-esteem, not self pity. Today choose to love yourself!
Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!

I hope your day is wonderful too.. thanks
I love being on the Peninsula and being able to see both East and West Bay at the same time. Traverse City has so many hidden treasures.
So glad you love Michigan. We forget how beautiful it is when we are here in the city.
I enjoy reading your blog and really like your quotes. Thanks.
Gosh that place looks beautiful! I have Bern wanting to do the Jared Takes a Wife... No time like the present. :)

Saw 2 of your patterns today at the Dallas Quilt Show. Recognized them immediately. The makers did a good job with them. Gerald Roy mentioned one of them in
his lecture. SPLIT NINE PATCH.
I love the U.P.! It is always gorgeous, but wait until you see it in the summer with all its green finery and blue water. In spite of the fact that my Granny was a Yooper, I had never visited until my youngest son took a college course at UMinn and my husband and I took a camping trip across the U.P. to pick him up. Purely accidently, but purely an AWESOME decision.
I'd go back in a hot New York mintue!
Enjoy and thank you for your travel stories. They keep me drooling!

I enjoy reading your blog. I like to read about your travels to South America and Europe, you visited some of the same places that I did.
Too funny. We are heading for Grand Traverse for this weekend. My brother is getting married on Saturday. Glad you are enjoying yourself.
