Jan/Feb Quiltmaker! Give-Away!!

d4675a2a-4919-4341-9716-455042da388e
Heads Up Notice!  There WILL Be Quilt-Cam from the cabin at 2pm Eastern TODAY!

Set your alarms and be ready with a project!  This is the first time I am broadcasting from the cabin, and I’m excited to give it a try!

Those folks at Quiltmaker are really on the ball!

I was astonished to find EARLY copies of the Jan/Feb issue in my mail box…and you know what that means?

They always send some extra so I can pass them on to YOU!

I know, I know, I know – you are whining that you don’t even have the Christmas decorations out yet, and here we are pushing January/February of NEXT YEAR?

I used to feel panicky about that too, but when it comes to quilting, we need TIME to make the things we want to make.

You know what I also love?  February means Spring is right around the corner, and while I constantly try to find things about Winter that I love ((and some things I do)) I am not a big fan of cold and dark and miserably icy.  So anything that brings pink and springy into view is good by me!

What will we find in this issue?

20151123_142153

SO Many Goodies!

I actually went over to the Quiltmaker.com site to see what graphics they had up that I could use for this post – and we are so early there aren’t any!  So this is your sneak preview with the magazine open on top of my cutting table.

20151123_142217

My Addicted to Scraps column!

This month the Addicted to Scraps block is called Folded star.  It’s a 9’’ block ((Yes, we went bigger!))  that comes together easily using half square triangles and combination half square and quarter triangle  units. This is a fun one to play with – and using different light/medium/dark fabric values will give you that 3D folded effect.  If you’ve got some layer cakes around – they are just the right size to use in these blocks!

Some of my favorites from this issue:

20151123_142238

Oh my gosh, so cute!  Family of Three!

20151123_142317

Itty Bitty Blocks turned into pillow covers.

Who can resist foundation pieced log cabins so tiny?

20151123_142345

Be still, my scrappy lovin’ heart!

20151123_142140

LOVE the colors of the mystery quilt! I just happen to have all those scraps ready to cut and sew. Whohoo! Shahann@yahoo.com

it took me about twenty minutes to figure out how to log on to QuiltCam--I thought it was just fine---and gave me the chance to sew the binding on a quilt I had just finished longarming this morning. And then I have about half the binding sewn on this evening while watching Netflix.

I'd be happy to get this particular magazine--the copy with the Garden quilt we started in Las vegas is well worn--and I have just half the blocks completed.

I have a question....why do you do these mystery quilts at this BUSY time of year? I know I should have more time to do this, but for some unknown reason my husband needs more of my attention and there is no sewing room for me. Has happened this way for the last three years, have the paint cards, have the instructions, even pulled some fabric from my stash. It is all in a project bag, waiting for the day I can try. Oh well. Thanks for the giveaway and the mysteries. Marti Morgan lnmm@outlook.com

Thanks so much for the chance to win! I'm a wee bit behind on my Allietare clues as my main machine got jammed with lint debris and I'm on a two week wait-list with my favorite sewing machine mechanic. Soon I'll catch up and be flying along with everybody else!
