I received an email from Edda with the most glorious setting of Wild & Goosey blocks I’d ever seen!
I LOVE this!
She has taken 4 blocks, joined them together into big blcoks, and sashed them inserting 9 patch cornerstones.
Isn’t this fabulous?
I am so inspired when I see what you do with a simple ((Or in this case kind of intricate, not so simple and paper pieced!)) block from my Addicted to Scraps column with Quiltmaker Magazine!
I’ve loved these blocks so much ---and I know you have too, because they are all over the place, especially on our Quiltville’s Open Studio group on Facebook ---

Hi Bonnie,
My dad lives in memory care at Bickford Cottage in Portage, Michigan. Every year they have a fundraising event with proceeds going to Alzheimer's research.
This is the second year I've made a raffle quilt for this event. Tickets are $5 each and can be obtained by stopping by in person (4707 W. Milham Ave.) or by contacting Janna Ritter or Cheryl Harris at 269-372-2100.
The drawing will take place on August 14. The quilt is 86" x 110" and fits a queen sized bed. It was inspired by your Wild & Goosey block. My hope is that we will be able to make a great contribution to Alzheimer's research.
EddaI wanted to share this special quilt with you because I have dear friends who are also dealing with the effects of Alzheimer's in aging parents. It is devastating to watch this disease slowly claim the person we once knew until they are barely recognizable.

So – here I sit at the airport because last night I just couldn’t sit at the computer. I’m trying to look at the bright side of things. It’s almost too easy to hit google and read every little thing about any syndrome out there ---but I did find a site with easier to understand “more normal people” verbage about Mac Tel 2.

But from this moment, since there is nothing I can do about it – I’m putting my worrying on the back burner and just going on with my life as best as I can!

beautiful quilt and have fun at the festival - you have the right attitude live life to the fullest you can and enjoy it - put the worries that you can do nothing about on the back burner if you can. there are many of us dealing with health issues that we can not do any thing about and have to learn to live with them - easier said then done in reality but we must.
I know it is hard to not worry but I hope you feel all the positive thoughts and prayers being said for you!

Enjoy your time in Vermont. I am sure you will. My grandma had the type of macular problem that happens overnight. I will be praying that there will be a cure for this someday soon, and that it will progress very slowly so you can do all the things you love to do. You are an inspiration to us all. We love the things you do, and love watching you on your journey that you show us on your blog.

What a beautiful quilt, thank you Bonnie for sharing. So many people are touched by Alzheimer's, I hope this raises lots of money for them.
My hubby has a saying: "It's not about what happens, it's all about what you do with it that matters". Some times this drives us crazy to hear. But a week ago he lost his job, and he is truly living this statement.
The reason I'm sharing it with you? Well I see you as a positive, go getter. I believe you will do wonderful things, (you already are), and the issue with your eyes can't keep you down. I look forward to seeing "what you do with it". Stay strong, and know lots of people are praying for you.

Bonnie, what a beautiful interpretation of the Wild and Goosey blocks! It sounds like your eye problem was diagnosed early and I am sending you positive thoughts and hopes for the best outcome. You have got the right attitude, worrying never solves anything!
Love your positive attitude Bonnie. As one who was also diagnosed with a rare disease a few years ago, I totally understand what you must be feeling. I'm a "seize the day" person as you are. Keep doing what you are doing! You have an amazing life and a diagnosis isn't going to change that. We love you girl! Praying.

I have a cornea issue and will go blind in my left eye, right now it's usually pretty yucky and very uncomfortable. I go to the Mayo Clinic and trust them wholeheartedly. I take it day by day and that is the only way to go. Keep up a positive but realistic attitude and you will make it.
I love the quilt and am so happy to have a chance to win it while helping a worthy cause--thank you for sharing this. As to your eye issues, Bonnie, I can add nothing, but I can certainly send a {{{HUG}}}.
Wishing you the best with your eyes, Bonnie. I'm currently dealing with my husband's upcoming cataract surgeries and the beginning signs of Macular Degeneration. All this is on a smaller scale than what you're dealing with but it's scary to think of the possible outcome. I will keep you in my prayers. (((HUGS)))

Hi Bonnie, Generosity isn't the word - and what a stunning quilt! I lost my darling Dad to early on-set Alzheimer's when he was just 64 and it is the cruellest of diseases. Such a worthwhile cause I also support. I am hoping you are coming to terms with your own problems too, Bonnie, and that your eyes are not too uncomfortable after all that prodding about.
