Does the inner quilter who lives within you notice this quilting design right off?
I took this photo of the grates around the trees in downtown Bend the other night, too captivated to pass it buy without a photo op.
Love the outer edge with the cabin, and the log cabin look in the center. Quilt designs everywhere!
We took a walk this morning to check out the area, and boy what a difference from the other day.
The smoke is still thick and choking as the fire rages on uncontained.
We were told that more evacuations are under way with people being told to be ready to move out at a moment’s notice.
Smoky haze over the Deschutes river.
Where is Mount Bachelor?!
What could be plainly seen the other day is nowhere to be found today – you wouldn’t even know that there is a mountain range behind these trees.
Sweet flowers growing!
Randy is playing around with some Scrappy Trips blocks from the free patterns tab!
Bye bye, Max! I’ll see you next time!
Quilt stuff is all packed up and we are headed out to the airport shortly ---it’s been a great few days and I got so much done! Deadlines will be satisfied and my load feels lighter, and better than that, I got to sew and see one of my designs come to fruition in actual fabric. Can’t wait to share it with you when I can down the road!
Next stop – Portland, Oregon! I’m coming your way, North West Quilters!

I know I was looking at the design on a roll of paper towels this morning thinking that it would make a good quilting design.
A very close friend and her husband were evacuated yesterday. Their beautiful home is in the path of the fire, and we are thankful that they are safe. Safe travels to you, Miss Bonnie!
My husband is used to me having to stop and snap a photo of many weird (to him) things wherever we are. Wouldn't want to miss an appliance or quilting idea!!
I'm so sorry for those in the fire area and pray for safety for them and their property. Have a good flight Bonnie!
Looks kinda like a Welsh whole cloth quilting design.
Max has such soft warm sad eyes!!! Hope you give him a nice big hug LOL
The grating around the tree was terrific. I can hardly go anywhere without seeing something that would make a great quilt, or is an inspiration for a quilt design. Tile floors catch my attention more and more. If only I could use the ideas to design quilts as well as you do Bonnie.

You have taken a beautiful pictures. It is really beautiful play to spend the vocations. Being a textile designer I love Quilt work and textile designs. One of my favorite is Free-piecing and liberated quilting.

Happy to hear that you got a lot accomplished on your stay in OR. Thanks for more pics. I always notice designs in flooring for quilting patterns and dishes for applique designs-we all have quilting on our minds! Lorna in mn
