It’s our LAST Quilt-Cam of the year!
I’m not sure how I feel about that – where the heck did 2013 go?
I know it was a great year, full of wonderful people and fabulous places – but really…where does it go so quickly?
Here’s to hoping that 2014 is going to be JUST as wonderful if not more-so!

I posted last night that I was happy-dancing due to finishing ALL of the square in a square cornerstones needed for my Cheddar Sampler. And I just couldn't STAND it..I had to lay them out!
The blocks came off the design wall!
I laid them out with the string sashings and the cornerstones --Ready to sew together!
Folding row 2 over row 1 with right sides together to start the webbing process!
I started out on my 1925 Singer 27 ---See how the rows are growing, and are connected to each other by the chaining threads? I web the whole top together this way.
But I’ve switched for tonight to a new acquisition ---
Yes, I convinced Santa that I was very very good – and I picked up this Singer 201-2 today off Craigslist in a neighboring town! Her serial number is AH843591 which dates her to 1948. I ran home with her, and cleaned her up a bit, gave her an oil and lube and set her 1/4” seam where it needs to be and we are ready to roll! The 201 is not belt driven – it has a “potted motor” and it turns the wheel so smoothly!
My block parts are laid right out in rows in the order they go so I can continue webbing this top together!

Yes your live Bonnie. I don't understand how your adding your boarder. Is most of the quilt top already sewn except the end blocks. This looks interesting. Was able to get you by going to youtube and clicking on your link and up you came! I just got a 1953 Kenmore that has a potted motor and there are cog gears and a chain that looks like a bicycle chain underneath! Have to get the cabinet (which is huge!) cleaned and moved into the former bedroom of my daughter who moved out last month! I am letting the sewing loose on the house!

I have so much going on but I'm going to join you tonight. It's the only quilting I'll be doing since this past Sunday and until this upcoming Saturday. Step 3 of Celtic Solstice is all done so tonight I'll work on catching up with Steps 1 and 2.

This is my first live quilt cam! It worked out perfectly. I had today off and will have tomorrow off for my birthday. I recently bought a 1880's Domestic treadle. Her name is Marguerite and I love her. I finished a quilt today for my cousin's daughter using the treadle. I used the ruffler attachment to make a ruffled edge. I wish I would have had that attachment years ago when I made dresses and pinafores for volunteering at a local historic park.
Love quilt cam. Thanks for sharing. I put two of your books on hold at my local library recently. I hope to get them soon.

So funny! I as searching all over the internet, trying to find you and get my Bonnie fix. I had several windows open, - two of your Quiltville page, one of You Tube, and one Google + Hangout. Nothing! Drats! Then, all of sudden, there were Bonnie voices all over the place. Two or three, I'm not sure, and all just a second or two off from each other. I quickly closed all but one page and now you are coming loud and clear.
oh Bonnie - do NOT fear Windows 8... Under it's different "look", everything is the same. You just need to find the 'My Computer" icon and put it on your desktop, and then work from the desktop rather than from the tile page - you'll be comfortable in no time! I promise.
I'm in. Love your layout for cheddar/ Working on my mystery clue 3. Liking the results.
I too have a Windows 8 HP. It was frustrating at first. I ignore the app side of things completely and stick to the desktop mode. I 'pinned' all my usual software to the taskbar and find it usable that way.

If you run out if installs on your software call Microsoft and tell them you had to flatten your laptop and are reinstalling. They will give you a new code so you can install again
There is a shell that you can run on Windows 8 to make the opening more like Windows7. It gives you the start button back. I too, am working on Celtic Solstice, skipped over to clue 3 and will go back to finish clue 2 later on.

Your design wall looks blank now. You may think that you don't teach us anything during quilt cam but you do. Love the way you have web the top how easy is that.
I have been using a Singer 201 as my main machine for both piecing and machine quilting for many years. You can even drop the feed dogs on it! They are such wonderful, smooth-running machines. Enjoy yours! I love seeing all your old machines.

Dear Bonnie, each time you post about sewing on your Singer machine(s), I think of mama's machine, and the *amazing* smell when the case was opened.
Also, the cheddar gives your quilt a 'pop' of warm colour that is cheerful!

I just discovered you and Quilt Cam this year, and I really enjoy quilting along with you, although I am usually not available when you are broadcasting live. I agree that the quilting community, and the practice of making quilts, has become an enormous part of my life, and I have met some of the most wonderful, talented, and generous people. You are certainly one of those. Thanks so much for all you do.
