I’m feeling productive today!
I finished quilting Celtic Solstice – but no peeking yet! Binding is next – maybe tomorrow.
But for now, I need something less stressful ---
Treadling String Sashings on the 227M!
I’ve got quite a stack built up, but I’m going to need a lot more. A LOT more.
I can get 2 2-1/2” X 6-1/2” sashings from each block.
I’m doing it this way because I have a lot of short recycled shirt strings from pockets and collars and cuffs and such ---and this way there are only two identical sashings in the entire quilt – so I get more variety that way!
I’m sewing these onto left over pattern backs from when I did my doll and country animal line as “Needle in a Haystack!!” Never could see throwing away perfectly good paper..LOL! The size is half the sheet of printer paper – so 5-1/2” X 8-1/2”. I trimmed them to 5-1/2” X 6-1/2” and that gives me 1/2” extra for squaring and evening up if needed.

WOW! It's been a while since I have been able to join everyone for Quilt Cam! I will be working on some easy crumb piecing tonight after having finished a project with more than 2,500 pieces. I literally have butterflies waiting for November 29th!!!!!!!!

Good evening Bonnie! I am watching in on quilt-cam live for the first time! I feel like I am having an evening at crafting retreat, with "my quilting ladies". I am not sewing tonight, but I am using my colored pencils and starting to plan my next challenge. I will also get my sketch book out and finish planning my backing for my placemats project. Hi Bonnie, it's Mary in Canada. Tonight I'm working on borders for my Easy Street and working on grey and white & black twosies to do another one. I decided I liked this one so much I have to re-do it, as my DD2 has claimed the first one.
I am not working on anything tonight. Just watching you and listening... Love the quilt cam.
Working on a tote bag that's LONG overdue....... too much life getting in the way and not enough sewing time. Hopefully, I will get the lining done tonight as well as the straps. Then tomorrow all I have to do is sew it together. Here's to hoping!
HI Bonnie! I'm just tuning in. what make and year is your tredle? I've never seen one like that! By the way I'm making a baby twin size quilt using your dancing nine patches! I wanted a twin size so this sweet little girl would nave it and use it her whole life. Its done in Pinks, Greens Purple and yellows, with a pink flowered border.
First time I have set in on a Quilt Cam! Loving it! It's funny that I am now watching you because you were a topic of conversation at guild tonight. Nothing bad, of course. LOL Just talking how you use up and store your scraps. OK... back to watching! Love everything you do!

Hi Bonnie, just listening to your comment on the size of your needle shank on your Davis? machine ask your husband about a tool to measure the circumference I can not think of the name but there is a tool, maybe micrometer. Good Luck

I am working on Easy Street #2 tonight! I am "webbing" the blocks as you have shown on quilt cam a few times. All I can say is WOW! That makes a speedy job of constructing blocks. When I was working I had a quote on my bulletin board which said, "decide what you like to do and then figure out a way to get someone to pay you to do it." It sounds like that is what you are doing.
I'm starting to worry -I've made a huge stack of 2 1/2 scrappy strips plus other scrappy blocks for future use, BUT my scrap pile is not at all noticeably smaller. Help!

Arley here in Sooke BC sewing rows together on a strip twist. I had to smile when you were talking about quilting being your work. I used to own a quilting store and so many people would come and say "I wish I had your job and could sit and sew all day". I would think "I wish I could sew all day" because while running the store there was never enough time to sew. Great to watch quilt cam LIVE :)
Tonight was my first quilt cam experience. Loved it. My interest in sewing and quilting has just been renewed.
Any tips for those of us who bought too many kits and one style fabric? All of my scraps are "muddy". : ( Thanks for everything! Pat

2. Second question quilt cam was very out of focus for me tonight was it due to viewing on my iPhone .... So just me ? Or everybody ?
3. For the mystery fabrics the blues need to contrast with the yellows neutrals oranges and greens but do the blues (and all the other color families) need to contrast with each other within each color family?

Watching the archived cam and am noticing that when you look up at the camera, the picture dims/darkens. When you look back down and sew it brightens back up. Could your glasses be causing this change by reflecting back at the camera?
Enjoying the string piecing with leftover fabric...........boy, do I have leftover fabric. Great idea.
I am finishing up Christmas stuff want to do this real bad got your book. So I am on it!
