I loved the display of quilts waiting to be shared by Susan, laundry hamper ready to roll with a handle….Every day items that make our quilt life easier!
One by one the quilts were shown, and we had such a great time. I love seeing what you do, so if I come to visit your guild ---bring your show & share to class so we can all cheer you on.
This basket was not part of show and share, but I took a picture anyway….I LOVE this!
Look at all the pockets, inside and out:
Look at all the pockets, inside and out:
The pockets are window screening – and I love how they have ample space to contain, and keep things visible!
It covers what looks to be an ice cream type of bucket ---with elastic on the bottom to hold it in place.
I am unaware of a pattern for this item, it just belonged to a student in class…great idea, don’t you think?
Cathedral Stars…BEAUTIFUL!
Cathedral stars was made for a guild fundraiser ---and they did such a great job! The pattern for Cathedral Stars is found under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog. Once you start making these blocks, you can’t stop!
This mother & daughter team is a dynamic duo!
The daughter cuts, the mother sews and they turn out beautiful quilts! This is Roll Roll Cotton Boll from String Fling. I have loved every variation of this I have seen…..just lovely!
These gals also did Orca Bay from String Fling --- GORGEOUS!
And Easy Street, last year’s mystery that will be featured in my new book this coming Spring 2014!
And Texas Braid from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
There was no stopping these two, and they are in on THIS YEAR’S MYSTERY too!
A Terrific Virginia Bound from Scraps & Shirttails all from recycled shirt fabrics!
Diamond Strings is a freebie from the Free Patterns tab ---and is really fun, have you tried one?
Look at that smile! This is another Texas Braid from Adventures with Leaders & Enders.
Love the addition of applique in the border!
Did you participate in our Leader & Ender Cheddar Bow-Tie challenge?
Love the asymmetrical setting! FUN! And unexpected – which makes it more fun!
Ohio Stars & Rails is also found under the free patterns tab.
A great quilt for Quilts of Valor or simply for the love of all things patriotic.
This is Susan’s Bricks in the Barnyard from Scraps & Shirttails II!
She used recycled fabrics plus a wonderful pumpkin colored solid…YUMMY!
Another lovely Orca Bay! These are SO beautiful – every one I’ve seen
You will find Orca Bay in String Fling.
Easy Street! ((Don’t you love how it matches Susan’s blouse?!))
This is Ann’s Blue Ridge beauty from Adventures with Leaders & Enders under way.
Leader & Ender projects are not a race – they just evolve along side our other projects –and can take some time to complete, but they do grow! This is going to be beautiful in shades of green and neutrals.
Here’s one in Blues! Gorgeous!
Ann’s Talkin’ Turkey from String Fling!
Beautiful King Sized Sister’s Choice! Isn’t it lovely?
Sister’s Choice is found under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog ---an all time favorite!
Basket weave strings was made by a young granddaughter under the tutelage of her grandmother when she was 7 or 8 years old. She is now entering her teens and is becoming a skilled long arm quilter! They are never too young to take up quilting. Basket Weave Strings is found under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog and is a perfect beginner project!
A lovely Roll Roll Cotton Boll from String Fling with a very unexpected and delightful tomato red border!
I am in love with this color! WOW!
Hello, Easy Street!!
And all of our mystery quilt makers said they are in for this year’s Celtic Solstice Mystery, too!
Are you joining in? Click the Celtic Solstice Mystery tab at the top of the blog!
And this was extra special!
The group makes lap robes from string blocks using the String Quilting Primer found under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog. String blocks are easily made by groups, squared to size, traded, swapped, combined and sewn into wonderful tops in may layouts just right for comfort-giving. I loved seeing the rainbow array as they all showed their quilts they’ve made for those in need. Great job, ladies!
It was just so inspiring to see the quilts that came out of these gal’s talented hands and over-abundant stash. I love the freedom of being a consummate scrap quilter where everything goes and even old unloved fabric can find a purpose and a place.
Good Morning from Quilt Villa!
I arrived up at the cabin in pitch darkness to the aroma of baked potatoes in the oven last night. Steaks were quickly thrown on the grill, and I tossed together a yummy salad. I didn’t even pick up a needle last night –just watched a couple episodes of Bones and fell asleep. This is the view I awoke to this morning. The sun is shining down on a beautiful Sunday October morning on the Blue Ridge parkway in the distance.
I’ll be sewing away on Celtic Solstice today –getting those rows assembled into a top!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Love your view. I also love the quilts people make from your patterns.
It is so much fun to see these show and share quilts. Thank you for sharing them with us. I especially like seeing the show and share quilts that are in colorways I haven't yet seen. I found the last photo especially inspiring. Isn't it great to see what a difference you can make with a different block arrangement and accent color? Looks like you are in for a fun day in a beautiful place. Enjoy!
Here is the pattern for the Quilter's caddy. I have all my stuff in the one that I made!! I used the leftover screening when I got a new pool cage! Bucket is a paint bucket. Here is the link: http://www.fonsandporter.com/content_downloads/fptv1712_Project-Quilters_Caddy.pdf
Yay! Another guild with many members of Bonnie's Fan Club. :) Lovely work, ladies, and some great, inventive variations. Thanks for sharing, Bonnie - always inspiring to see how others are interpreting your patterns.
YEA,for show and share. I think I know why you are at the Cabin finishing your Celtic Soltice...You have to make sure it will fit your BED before you decide on the borders. LOL! I'm playing with borders for Midnight Flight, Almost done, it won't be a 2013 UFO, YES!!!
Enjoy your much-deserved time at the Quilt Villa, Bonnie. What I wouldn't give to get a sneak peak of that top! Bwa ha ha ha!!!! I can't wait. I drove to Lowe's yesterday to get my color chips, and will be pulling fabrics from my stash today.

I wonder what quilt historians of the future will think of all the Roll Roll Cotton Boll, Orca Bay and other Bonnie Hunter quilts. They'll probably think it was some sort of cult or something. LOL
each and every single one of those quilts is just gorgeous....love them all..wowo
ROFL... probably so!!!! Years from now ..curator remarks: "There has to be a serious reason for all of these quilts to be the very same, and spread all around the country and overseas too. Suzy, you are right... a QUILT CULT from the early 2000s"
nice quilts! and covering a bucket is easy peasy! measure around the bucket for length of fabric to circle the bucket and attach some pockets. sew it together at the top and stick the mess into a bucket and outside of the bucket and of course I like the idea of attaching elastic so the bucket wont fall out and move around! great idea even for scraps!
