It rains a lot in these mountains.
Today we were talking to our neighbors and they confirmed that we had over 20" of rain during the month of July!
Weather changes quickly in the mountains and this morning I caught the clouds hanging low after the midnight rain.
I never get tired of this view.
Where the wind was still yesterday, today it is lightly sweeping the low hanging clouds across the sky.
More rain in the forecast? I wish I could stay for it. We are packing up and heading home in a bit. It will be a couple of weeks until we can return.
I wonder how much will have changed in the next two weeks?
I look forward to finding out!
The mystery top has been sewn into rows.
I'm pinning and matching, pinning and matching, pinning some more and sewing rows together. I didn't get it finished this weekend, but am happy with the progress made while here.

Your view is spectacular. In southern Minnesota we have pretty much flat land which is good for the crop farming we do, but not especially interesting. We do get a very good view of the snow blowing across it unobstructed though! Gotta love that ;)

20" in one month--I can only begin to imagine what that's like. Especially since this central,part of Washingtn state only gets 8.9" a year!!!!!!

Beautiful views from quiltvilla. Sorry your weekend is coming to an end. I'm looking forward to your mystery quilt as I not been a part of one yet. Just finished piecing 100 2x8 crumbs blocks set aside for sashing I think. Just finished piecing a string pinwheel quilt. Trying to clear baskets before I begin cutting again. I pulled out some precut tops I cut and stashed awhile back to put together at retreat next weekend. Now I just need to decide what I will work on during quilt cam Monday evening. Fortunately someone keeps us filled with inspiring ideas.

Bonnie, I just can't get enough of reading about your adventures at Buck Mountain. I love seeing the views through your eyes and reading about the projects you work on while there. The thought crossed my mind this morning, "What does your DH do while you are quilting?" I love the mountains and DH and I spend a week every summer near W. Jefferson. I take rubber stamping stuff with me and DH makes a lot of cards while we are there. It's the only time all year that he stamps, but he loves it for that one week. Keep those posts coming, I can hardly wait for the next one.

I love the mountains.....we get no view from the flatlands here in So. Delaware! Quiltvilla must be a lot of fun. When you return in 2 weeks the leaves will either be totally turned or totally gone...you just never know. Mine are turning quickly here. Thanks for sharing the views.

Thanks for sharing your somewhat down time. We have rain here this morning. It will be a great week here filled with longarm Mon-Wed. Thursday I'll go to the Sewing Expo in Ft. Worth for some inspiration and a hexie class!! Friday back to quilting and/or working on the vintage machine that came in over the weekend. Life is good here!! Hugs, Allison
