I did my best while on my lunch hour to catch what I could capture, which wasn’t easy as the show was very busy and bustling!
It’s hard to say which was my favorite – I loved them all! There were appliques distinctively 1930s era. There was piecing, both planned and scrappy-
There were time honored patterns, and some that looked completely modern in their design.
There was functional basic hand quilting, and some with feathers, plumes and wreaths artistically executed, capturing the breath and wonder of passers by as they browsed.
There are many wonderful quilts in the show, but this exhibit by far is so inspiring.
I wonder if the quilters from 70 to 90 years ago would have ever imagined that their quilts would be hanging here as part of this wonderful collection in this day and age, on view for all to see and enjoy.

Several of the first quilts look like they are made from patterns in the Mountain Mist Collection. Their Blue Book of quilts. Lovely!

Such beautiful inspiration! I loved the red cross quilt! How clever for the maker to leave one without corners (or at least it looked as though it had no corners.) Methinks Bonnie Hunter was eyeing that particular quilt for some reason? ;-)

I just love the orange star quilt with the rings. I'd love to make it. Does anybody know the pattern or how to draft it? Or if you are allowed to draft it(copyright etc)
