That’s the problem with cabinets…they usually come with machines still attached!
And this one is only $65 and it is in AWESOME condition.

I emailed the guy..had him send me a photo of the bobbin area…and the bobbin case is still there so I am good.

I finally checked out the serial number on my treadle. Singer site reads that it is from 1910. I purchased it in Worcester, Mass in 1980 and there is a little business card in there from a sewing business from the same city. It has one of those long bobbins...I think you called them a shuttle? It is the shape of a bullet and I have three spare bobbins with thread. There are all kinds of attachments, the old leather strap (?) and a new one that I've never put on. You are, of course, firing up my curiosity to see if I could get this machine working. It actually looks to be in pretty good shape. The decals are very ornate and in good shape. The cabinet is like the one you show here except with ornate wood scrolling on either end. I'll have to watch your You Tube video about using those bobbins and find help with getting it all going. Want to come to Cambria? It's lovely here :-)

My Mom has the same exact cabinet if the middle "drawer" tilts out. I don't think her machine has as much inlay as yours. It's beautiful! Congratulations for your new baby! :)

Me again :-) Found the video you did with Allison. My machine looks a whole lot like hers except the bobbin winder is lower...closer to the base of the machine. I think from your discussion with her, mine may actually be from 1928. Hope I can get her going. I checked the links on your 'vintage' page and think there is an instruction page that will help. Thanks!

Ugh...I wish I had your luck Bonnie!!!...I've been looking for just a treadle for my 1913 Red Eye forever...Can't touch a Singer treadle in the Texas Panhandle for $200...and that's the head and major parts missing =(

Looks great! I'm still on the hunt for one...may have a lead if I can just get my act together (though I did recently clear out some space in the garage and found the treadle I brought back from England with me! Forgot I had it!)

What a beautiful machine, my 1917 66 has the same cabinet. Love these old machines, nothing quite as solidly built as one of these. Enjoy!
QwerkyGrl, I have an old Singer Cabinet just like the one Bonnie has pictured. It does NOT have the original sewing machine in it. I had my Singer Golden Touch and Sew installed in the cabinet in about 1970-72 because the old machine was not operable. I'm planning on parting with the machine and cabinet; wish you were in GA, I'd let you have it! My Golden Touch and Sew works fine, has many attachments, original book, etc, but I just don't need it; I have 5 other machines and a Longarm. I lined the drawers and "well" of the cabinet with a Victorian looking fabric when I acquired the cabinet. I have not "tested the market" to see if it would sell.
Lucky you. I can't find anything in that condition around here. Or else Rick gets it first!

Awwww...darn! I just noticed the bobbin/hook pic and that's not a 115 hook. It's a model 15. BUT, still a fabulous find and super price on a major workhorse beauty!! Will be great for the cabin!!
If I came across that one for $65 I would have bought it too. Good one! And it doesn't have one of those weird (to me) bobbins.

Beautiful machine, I can't believe the price! My sister bought one here in Aus looks the same she paid $250 for hers! and has no intention of sewing on it:( I have a Husqvarna 10 treadle, my frame has the name Kennedy where it usually says Singer! Do you have any idea why that would be, I had to get it as that is my surname:) Enjoy your new machine and cabin.

I am sewing along with your crumbly rectangles and just LOVIN' the whole process--so fun!! My DH thinks I've "lost it"--little does he know that "it's" been gone a long time ago!! (LOL)
My DD and her 4 children come today to "beach it" and leave their doggie for us to dogsit for a week while they go to Cape Cod!
Am very excited to have a dog in our home again (Trying to talk DH into getting another--it's our 1st 7 yrs after our darling Winnie passed--Eng Springer Spaniel--what a love)...Enjoy, enjoy enjoy your much deserved vacation home...Hugs Julierose
I am going to see a singer treadle tomorrow and it belonged to my great aunt ( I am 70) and she use to quilt on it . I will ltell you about it after I see it
I've had a similar machine Bonnie. But I did it away because I didn't have room for it :-(
