You fill find Vol 7 on sale on May 7th at your local shop or news stand, or it can be ordered online direct from QuiltandSewShop.com.
While designing my block for this issue, I was playing with several piles of left overs, both from our Easy Street Mystery quilt that started last November, and for the current mystery running in Quiltmaker Magazine, Lazy Sunday!
Traditional blocks often have units of common sizes, and it is a lot of fun for me to take the left overs of various blocks and see how I can arrange them, shake things up and come up with something that will make a great quilt design.
If you are new here, WELCOME! Please take some time to poke around. There are free patterns, tips and techniques and all kinds of interesting things to discover in the tabs at the top of the blog.
If you like what you see, I hope you'll join us on facebook --our Quiltville Friends page is over 17,500 members strong and there are always links to tips and tutorials and free quilt patterns and loads of fun going on over there.
You will find all kinds of other opportunities with links in both the right hand and left hand side bar. And don't forget to give us a follow on Pinterest as well!
And most of all I hope you will come back....OFTEN!
I’m happy to present to you, my block, JELLY BEAN BLAST!
Yes, and if you look close enough you will find a couple points that don’t “quite” match….this is just how I roll.... half on, half off, and having a great time!
I can’t wait to make this into a whole quilt…I’m thinking that each of the blocks can use four different colors in their corners…not just limited to these 4 colors…and it will be a wonderful array with a great secondary design when set together, either with or without sashings….what about putting it on point with an alternate block? Isn’t it fun to play?
Yes, I am a cover girl...but would you have guessed this one as mine? It's in the second column, 4th block down!
Would you like to be in the giveaway? I’m going to choose THREE WINNERS! 2 will receive signed copies of Quiltmaker’s 100 blocks, vol 7 from me…and one winner will have it shipped to them directly from Quiltmaker!
The drawing will be open until I return from Maine on May 6th.
You will also want to visit the other participants to learn about them and their blocks throughout the blog tour!
Happy Hopping, everyone!
