It’s a Quilt Fiesta Give-Away!

Have you ever walked into a restaurant or public building and thought to yourself that the tiles would sure make a gorgeous quilt pattern!?

You “KNOW” that I have…I’ve posted pics from my travels of tile floors, tile table tops, tile counters…even tiles found in a Taco Bell Bathroom that would make a great border design! I’ve taken pictures of tile designs all across The Netherlands, and Paris, The Carribean, Mexico – Anywhere I can find quilt-inspiration!

A few weeks ago Cheryl Lynch contacted me to participate in her blog tour for the release of her new book Quilt Fiesta! Just one look at the cover and I knew I wanted to spend some time with this book.

It is splashy and fun and fresh and makes me OH SO READY for spring and summer!

There is applique, piecing, wonderful color, cute projects large and small, and INSPIRATION!

It’s like a history lesson and a quilt lesson at the same time. There are images of actual tiles, the process of the painting and designing and from there how they end up in Cheryl’s delightful quilts!

I remember the first time I sat at a tiled table in a Chili’s restaurant…just captivated by the colors and designs in the tiles. I know you’ve thought it too! Now Cheryl will show you how to take those designs and turn them into your own tile-inspired quilts!

So here we are with another Give-Away! I’ve got a SIGNED COPY of Quilt Fiesta here for you! All I want you to do is leave me a comment on why you want to win this book! This post will be open for comments for 5 days ---We will draw for the winner on Thurs, March 3rd! ((I think I should be over my Germany Induced Jet Lag enough to draw the winner and mail it on by then!!))

Also, please feel free to visit these blogs who are next in the line up after me on their given dates, and you can sign up for a free copy there!

It's amazing how many things we see in our day that can be made into quilts! I love mexican tiles, but have never really thought about making a quilt from them before reading about this book. Love it!

My man thinks I'm crazy taking pics of floor and wall tiles. This book would show him exactly why and how they inspire quilters. Thank you for the chance to (hopefully) win one.

I would really like to win a book... looks like a mix between applique and piecing-- which is my favorite. It would also prove that I could actually WIN one of these "leave a comment" give-aways. No matter how many times I've tried, never seems to happen!

Love the cover quilt - would like to have this just to look at. Reminds me of the book "Bella Bella Quilts" by Norah McMeeking which is based on Italian mosaics. You should check that out.

Dear Bonnie,
I was sick when this was posted, but my daughter saw it and told me about it. We do mission work in Mexico and in our spare time I quilt. I would love to have this book. I have so many times looked at the tiles and thought what a great pattern for a quilt it would be. I hope you pick me.
Love, Cheri

Fun book! I've been known to snap a photo or two at the floor in a public bathroom. Especially in Europe. Those tiles are fabulous, some churches too!

I'd really like this book because I've always enjoyed looking at tiles on floors, herringbone patterns of wood planks on floors, and bricks on the outside of buildings. I've always thought that it would be so cool to include those designs into my quilts. How wonderful to know that others think the same way and now someone has published a book!

I've enjoyed visiting your blog, and would love a copy of the book!

Wow, this sounds similar to the book we were talking about this weekend (though it was a diff. book). I think it'd be a great book both for the history and the quilting techniques. locknessa@hotmail.com

I want this book because I've seen several photos of quilts made from Cheryl's patterns, and they are amazing. I am very much drawn to symmetry, and most tile designs are symmetric. Because Cheryl was inspired by the tiles, many of her creations offer that balance of design that brings me a sense of peace and harmony. Love what she's done!

I would like to win this because these are such original quilts and also very beautiful.

I love "different" quilting books and this one looks like it would fit the bill...not the "same old" quilt patterns.
