And Now She's Quilting!
I've got to head to the massage office in a bit, but I wanted to share some pics of the quilting on weedwhacker....I'm doing a whirlygig feather thing in the whacker blades....and since the border was inspired by an amish joseph's coat quilt...curling amish feathers are going in the border. If it was a solid border, I'd echo them or fill in the other spaces, but the stitching is mostly lost in the busy fabrics anyway..still I think you can see it since I took the pics with the flash off :c)
I'm using a fuscia thread in the dark areas...and a varigated pastel in the lights. It's a superior varigated and it is ANYTHINTG but superior. It breaks and breaks! :c( I've messed with tension and everything..changed needle....it quilts fine with the solid fuscia, but this superior is (*&@#$(*&$&!

It all works, Bonnie. Love the results.

I love the way it's coming together.
The quilting really brings it to life. A Scrap quilt looks like an heirloom one.

The quilting is comimg along nicely. I agree with the superior thread, it breaks on me constantly. I find if I mist the spool with a small amount of water it seem to stop that. Glad to hear someone else has the problem. I am hearing how great superior thread is but I seem to have the breaking problem.
Your quilting is so beautiful. And I think the quilt got the border it deserves. Beautiful.
Wow Bonnie, I know we look so much the same . Only you are so fast with making a quilt And I........
I miss you :-)
I use the Superior Poly Quilter varigated and it works really well for me - I know they have others. Which one are you using? I want to avoid it!
how frustrating have a thread that breaks continuially. Might as well use it up though and not get it again :-)
My machine doesn't like Superior threads at all. I can't be bothered messing with tension issues so I just use what works.
That weedwhacker is awesome. What are you going to bind it with-the black?
I have been raving to everyone about this quilt. This is a real beauty!!! Sorry about that thread. I have heard it can be troublesome.
Wow! You go girl! You've been busy. Love the strippy Weedwacker. And most of all, I love the close-up photos of the quilting. I don't do long-arm, but am constantly trying to improve on machine quilting.
The quilting is perfect for the design, Bonnie, and the whole thing is looking great. Interesting about the Superior thread. My machine liked the Superior cotton ones and the metallics, but it wasn't crazy about all the brands.
Wow Bonnie, it is looking wonderful! I can see the quilting just fine in your pics! It is so beautiful!
that quilting is gorgeous - you truly do a remarkable job. love the border you made, works incredibly well with those whirlies.
I love your quilt. The colors are scrumptious and the quilting is outstanding.
I love the Superior King Tut varigated ones but I work on just my little Bernina. Sorry it's problematic, but the quilting is FABULOUS!!
Sorry about the thread troubles. That just stinks...I know very well what you're going through.
I don't have any now...but sometimes I use the Sullivan's Spray Silicone on some ^&*%$%^ threads. Sometimes it works...sometimes.... I purchase mine at Hancock Fabrics...and need to get a can the next time *I go into the city.* (Sounds like life on *Little House.*)
Love what you're doing for the quilting though!!! I can't believe how fast you are!!!
looks fantastic Bonnie, just make sure you take that varigated thread off your christmas wish list !
