Unfortunately, we live on the West Coast, and for those who don't know why that matters...cubes of butter are different sizes.

Much like Best Foods mayo is called Hellman's mayo depending on which side of the Rockies you live, cubes of butter are different also. West coast cubes are shorter and fatter.

As a result, I washed her butter dish put a new cube of butter on the dish, placed the lid on the dish, lifted the lid and the butter had disappeared. It was stuck to the inside of the dome of the lid.

We had a good laugh at that, and try to trip the butter from the corners so it fits ;).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-88866196196076535552012-02-29T12:35:09.887-05:002012-02-29T12:35:09.887-05:00my dear hubby loves to go around vacuum cleaning, ...my dear hubby loves to go around vacuum cleaning, and loves to make his own need be felt by crumbling anything cookie'ish on the floor. the mice love him, in spite of the cats that chase them, and breed like in biblical times, be fruitfull - ehm crumbfull - and multiply! never mind the butter then.... 8^}
from amsterdam with love, ireneIrene Onderweegshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04203549705147874055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-46269367994772114112012-02-29T10:04:34.211-05:002012-02-29T10:04:34.211-05:00I couldn't find a butter dish I liked so I swi...I couldn't find a butter dish I liked so I switched to tubs of butter years ago.HelenMariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17945119739531584638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-21752061580598644502012-02-29T08:27:04.583-05:002012-02-29T08:27:04.583-05:00My pet peeve is finding butter and crumbs in the j...My pet peeve is finding butter and crumbs in the jelly! -Heather FallonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-74368549006333006982012-02-28T22:28:12.912-05:002012-02-28T22:28:12.912-05:00Hey, what's my husband doing over at your hous...Hey, what's my husband doing over at your house? I made sure my kids learned this by the time they could feed themselves. I'm very ticky when it comes to shared food like jams, pickles, condiments etc. Have you used a Butter Bell? It's great. No need to put the butter in the fridge. It's always spreadable. The one that holds a stick is much better then the round one.CindyBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08476012172458247810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-40320595954569479272012-02-28T16:09:34.735-05:002012-02-28T16:09:34.735-05:00I feel your pain.
