March Quilty Box Drawing Time!

IMG_20180321_094636_485000
It’s time, it’s time!

It’s time to draw our TWO winners for the March 2018 Quilty Box – TWO winners, will one of them be you?

This was an exceptionally fun box – especially great for me since I was able to share mine with my friend Mona -

I don’t have a granddaughter, but I know someone who is deep into the throws of grandparenthood, and there is nothing like a 2 year old at Easter  to ramp you right up into the wonder and discovery each holiday brings.

When I met with Mona for lunch in Wilkesboro on Thursday, I just KNEW that this box was perfect for Mona, and in turn Carmen, who would be the recipient of this box.

My thought was for NEXT Easter.

But NO!  I’ve been fielding texts over the past few days charting Mona’s progress as she makes the adorable Jade & Cottontail quilt from the fabrics and patterns included in this month’s Quilty Box!

4  bunny heads, and Mona’s new spool cabinet – Oh, I’m jealous!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

And for your evening reading pleasure:

#piperonhousearrest was out on the lam!  It appears she charged the boundaries of her electric fence in an effort to break free and check up on the whereabouts and goings on of #sadiejaner and #chipinthepen!

Upon her arrival to her old lock up grounds next door, she discovered that fickle hearted Chip had taken up with 2 new friends, #curiouscookie and #oreooutloud. (who barks nonstop )

Not sure what to make of this situation, and not receiving quite the warm welcome she had expected due to the new jail-bird dogs,  she came running down my driveway with a squeal of delight after seeing Sadie, begging for treats, an ear scratch and a tummy rub.

Seriously, she was so excited to see us she nearly piddled herself!

After which, knowing she needed to be returned to within the confines of her own electric fence, Sadie and I leashed her up and with a pocket full of treats returned her safely home.

(I removed her electric collar before we reached her yard so she would not be brutally shocked upon re entering the flag zone.)

The story goes further, before the electric fence was installed Piper's owners contacted the cops about her being incarcerated behind the chain link fence with Chip. This explains further why Chip has 2 new inmate pals.

You just can’t make this stuff up!

I’m off to finish packing for Des Moines tomorrow – have a good evening, everyone!

  3. I love to hear about the doggie gossip from your neighbor hood
We had a border collie come visit us on her own frequently I would bring her back to her home finally I started calling the owners to pick her up. She was a lovely dog but we live on a busy street and have a leash law also. Her owners seemed so not worried she might get hit by a car. The whole family moved.

  4. That's the trouble with electric fences. Dogs learn that they can break through them if the motivation is strong enough. We had a neighboring Lab who used to break out of his electric fence every evening to go play ball with some kids down the street because there were no children in his family. Then he would burst back through the fence to go back home, so as not to get into trouble. A good plan, but we worried about him getting hit by a car, or even encountering the packs of coyotes we heard at night.

  9. Even an electric fence can't keep good friends apart. I always enjoy the dog stories. Thanks.
