Let’s have a March Quilty Box Gift-Away!

Mar_2017QB
March is quickly ebbing by!

I love March – I love that the more days in March rounds out the days we were short-sheeted in February.

March may roar in like a lion, and go out like a lamb, but I wish it would stay around a little longer.  March is full of promises – of spring, or new beginnings, of plans for the summer yet to come, and even new quilting projects just around the bend.

I came up to the new cabin on Thursday, and was met by The Hubster yesterday evening back in Wilkesboro for playing yet another round of “load up the trailer!”  It’s not as fun as it first was!  However, the cabin is now empty of everything that goes IN the new cabin.  We picked up my stash cabinet, and I can start unloading the stash from the transporting bins and really set up quilt-keeping here in Virginia.

Another thing he surprised me with is the March Quilty Box which had arrived while I was gone.

It’s an ALISON GLASS box!  Oh, yippeeeee!  More colors of spring and summer-to-be!

What is a Quilty Box?
  • Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
  • 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
  • Each month we have 4 or more products (Fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
  • Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
  • We will be using the hashtags #QuiltyBox and #GetQuilty
Your support is appreciated. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to contact me.

I love knowing that part of the proceeds go to benefit kids.  To me that is a win/win all the way around!

Oh, my goodness!  A full layer cake of Alison’s beautiful line-
SUN PRINTS by Andover Fabrics!

Aren’t these colors just GORGEOUS?

Each year Alison creates new designs for the Sun Prints line. This year’s designs are Overgrown, Meadow, and Link.

Overgrown features all the things you’d find on a chain link fence.  Flowers, birds and leaves cover the geometric background of the chain link.  Meadow comes from Alison’s favorite flora and fauna motifs.  White accents make bird’s wings and flower petals pop. Link introduces subtle dots over a background of bees and birds.

These fun designs are printed on a rainbow of base fabric and blend well with past Sun Print collections.

In this Quilty Box!

Along with the Sun Prints 10” square pack you will find a pattern booklet for making your own Sun Print patchwork Quilt by Alison Glass.

Two spools of Aurifloss from the Alison Glass collection: Aurifloss is perfectly suited for stitching on all types of fabric and is made with 100% long staple cotton.  A brilliant 6-strand divisible thread that may be used as is, or one or more strands may be separated to create thread of various thicknesses. These colors are hand selected to coordinate with the Sun Print collections.

Olfa touch Knife: Once you use this Olfa knife, you’ll see why it’s called “The handiest little knife in the world.” The knife is portable and fits perfectly in your sewing bag.  It features a secure blade lock and a hanging hole can slide onto your key-chain.

In fact this morning, we used it to easily slice through the shrink wrap that had mummified my fabric cabinet for transport.  I’ve already put it to good use!

Alison Glass stickers!  Use these cute stickers to brighten up your correspondence, your sewing machine, anywhere a happy sticker will make you smile.

So who wants this wonderful Quilty Box?

We will be drawing our lucky winner on Wednesday evening, March 29th!
Good luck everyone --

As for me, you’ll find me in the new sewing studio where daylight bulbs are replcing the yellowy flourescents, and stash is being organized and put into its new place.

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

Vintage album block quilt found in North Carolina.

Anger is one letter short of DANGER! It doesn't solve anything, it builds nothing, and it can destroy everything.

And of course, we all know that, right?  Throw it out, replace it with something constructive!

Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone -

  2. Those Sun Prints are absolutely gorgeous! I've had enough of March in NJ - it's been a mixture of clouds, rain, snow and very little sun and no hints of spring at all.

I'm off to Colorado tomorrow night to spend a week with 3 quilting friends, so a new line of fabric to look for (as if I need more fabric!). Hope you're having fun rediscovering your stash.

  11. Do you have to look at this page on Facebook to see a "blue 'add your link' button"? Somehow, I do not see it on the blog posting...

  17. I love bright prints as they energized me. I adore pale, roses like antique for soft romantic times, and I love 30's period. But those light bulbs make all the difference in seeing Real colors in real time. Coupons and Joanns are on my agenda next week, the sewing Nook is tiny, 7.5 ftx11ft. 4 corners, the overhead light does not supply what I need. Gonna need 4 lights, for 4 important working spots.Emts broke my main day lite 4 months ago, so new is not all on me. Wish it was a bigger room, but my queen bed, etc would not fit in that Sewing Nook, and yes, I did consider it, lol.

  31. Bonnie,
I'm jealous about your move! My husband hates anything resembling moves but I see them as Christmas presents - you open a box and oh my, things inside - and although you put them there, it is almost as much fun as surprise presents! That's just me!
