Grand Illusion Reveal at the Grand!

20160507_173225
SO MANY Grand Illusion Quilts made their way from all over to be shared all at once during our show & share evening at the Grand Hotel!

To have so many quilts together at once, all shared at the place that inspired this design was an amazing thing to me.

I just can’t explain the joy that I felt to have all of these quilts here in one place!

And finding a place to photograph them proved to be a bit tricky.

There were SO MANY!  ((This is a good thing!))

But how to fit ONE photo together?  There is no way to do a photo shoot off of the porch as there is no porch rail.  There are geranium planters all around the edge of the porch.  We couldn’t hang quilts over the world famous Grand Hotel geraniums!  And even if we did, there would be no way to fit us all in one photo.

So we took to the stage in the theater!

Isn’t this fabulous?

Such a Grand Occasion!

The Grand Hotel even featured us on THEIR blog! You can read that story HERE.

And for those who are new to my blog, you can find the digital pattern for Grand Illusion in the digital section of the Quiltville Store.

My favorite photo!

I took some time to take photos of Grand Illusion all around the hotel.  I’ve placed those photos in a slide show along with other photos from my visit to the grand.  Be prepared for a whole lot of Grand Illusion, and some other amazing views from around the grounds!

Enjoy!

Today, after a hike with Sadie, the final checkerboard border goes on the H quilt.

Jeff is here with me and he has a friend coming up, and the both of them will be out on the quads.

There may be target practice involved.  And I love being a mom and cooking lunch for hungry fellas even if it just means tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.  It’s a great day to be up on the mountain, even for just a short weekend.

Have a lovely Saturday, everyone!

  1. I woke up after the first night in my own bed. Cat purring next to me and birds singing. My first thought is that Winky Wishes is just the thing for a baby quilt I need to make!

  3. Bonnie, have your quilts made it home? It sounds like this could be happening again, regardless where you go. I hope you and your luggage have good luck for the next trip. I loved seeing Grand Illusion so at home at the hotel that inspired it. What fun!

  6. Wow what a lovely place to do a seminar. I got a chuckle at the slide show I had a picture of you wondering around the hotel with your quilt and taking photos picking it up again to another grand photo shot
