Hello from Illinois! Let’s Draw!

may_june16_giveaway_thumb[2]

I told you I would do this tonight!

I bet you thought I forgot!

No, didn’t forget, but ran out of time this evening before it was time to meet with all of the cocoon retreaters downstairs for our opening dinner event.

And then I had to take some time to check out my class room and get all set up in there so I am ready for classes to begin tomorrow.

What a DAY we have had!

It all started when the alarm went off at 3:15am.

Jeff drove me to the airport, leaving the house at 4am so I could be there at 4:30 am to check in for my flight to Atlanta which was boarding at 5:20am.

Early early.  Zombie early.

It continued like this….

I made it to Chicago okay, flying from Greensboro to Atlanta. Got to my gate in Atlanta about 5 minutes before boarding. Boarded when my group was called, took my seat in row 10, seat A and promptly got involved with whatever was on my phone…..

The flight passed uneventfully, Funny story of the day before I tuck myself into bed: I arrived in Chicago, and while claiming my luggage, texted Pam Holland to let her know that I was in terminal 2. She and Lisa had also arrived on American Airlines, and were in terminal 3.

I told her to stay there, I was waiting for Pepper Cory to text me when her flight got in. Here comes Pepper up the hall wheeling her mountain of baggage to rival mine…..and out we go to the curb to wait for our shuttle.

While we are waiting I asked Pepper which flight she was on. Delta 1693 she says.

Wait a minute…*I* was on flight 1693!

Pepper and I were on the same flight and we didn’t even know it! She never saw me board with my group, she sat 6 rows behind me on the plane, she never saw me tucked up against the wall, wasn’t looking the one time I stood up and made my way to the aisle to go to the restroom.

She didn’t see me as we deplaned, and I left just 6 rows ahead of her! (But you know how everyone clogs the aisles on a plane once you are at the gate, eager to get off.)

We laughed and laughed as we waited for our shuttle to arrive.

This is going to be one awesome cocoon!

Hahahah!  Yeah. Shuttle.  Uhhuh!

Only someone forgot to tell this driver that though we had 4 passengers total, we had luggage for 12 people.  We were crammed in the inside of this stretch limo with very little wiggle room!

Pam and Lisa loving it!

Yeah..how do those lyrics go?

Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice…And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"  No, wait! That’s hotel California!

And this is Chicago!  We had a lovely ride catching up and chatting all the way to Naperville.  And there will be more about that tomorrow, but for now, let’s get on to this drawing!

3 lucky winners to be!

Each will receive a copy of the May/June 2016 Quiltmaker Magazine from me along with a Summer Breeze charm pack by Moda!

Kathy C!

Congrats, ladies!  I have emailed each of you.  Please get back to me with your snail mail addresses and these goodies will ship out to you upon my return home from Wichita next week.

This girl is plumb beat tired.  I’ve been on the go since 3:15am this morning and there was no nap this afternoon.  So much excitement has kept me going, but I’ve gone as far as I can go and am turning in.

Tomorrow we sew!

Have a good night, everyone!

  2. Congratulations to the three lucky winners of the draw. We are all lucky winners because we have our wonderful Bonnie and have made lovely friendships here and in her classes. You ladies enjoy your good luck. I'll have to run over to B & N for my copy.

  3. Hi Bonnie,
I have a quick question. I don't know if you will see this, but here goes.
Regarding hand quilting, can you recommend a marking tool(s) that I can use to mark out the design I will be hand quilting? I am having huge frustrations with this.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Adrienne
