December Quilty Box Drawing Time!

It happened!

It really happened!

This is by far the largest response for ANY give-away I have ever held in the 10.5 years of this blog’s existence.

When I noticed by the clock that the drawing was about to close, and I needed to get my tail to the computer to let the Random Number Generator draw our winner, I about flipped!  We have close to 2450 entries for this one little wonderful Quilty Box!

Ohhhh, you guys want this one BAD!!

And only one person can be drawn.

Are you ready?  Just so you know, I am blasting Christmas Music and Straight No Chaser is here to set the theme.  So let's all get in the mood now:

Let's let that Random Guy choose our winner:

#849!

Donna Alonzo!!
Congrats, Donna!  Get back to me with your snail mail address and I'll get it to the folks at Quilty Box so they can get your box right out to you.
I love this Linky Thing for our Giveaways!  I don't think some people were reading that we were not using the comment section anymore, because there were still plenty of entries placed in the comments section that were not included in our drawing because they DIDN'T READ!
Because we are using the Linky for ALL FUTURE GIVEAWAYS I hope more do read so they can be included!

All of these goodies are going to our winner!

  • Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box. They offer plans from $44-48/mo.
  • 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
  • Each month we have 4 or more products (Fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
  • Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $50
Your support is appreciated. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank You,

And while I have your attention-

I've mentioned this special quilting event before.  I will be teaching at a Craftours cocoon for a 4 day exclusive event along with Pepper Cory, Pam Holland and Mark Sherman in Naperville, IL -right outside of Chicago.  I have had many many requests from those who live near by asking if they could attend the workshops and the evening events, but sleep at home in their own beds.

While the "Stay at the Marriott" all inclusive price is $887.00 I can see why those who live near by would want to stay at home and save their money for FABRIC!  And Notions!  And other quilty goodies --

So for those who LIVE within the Naperville area who want to come to this event, we have a "sleep at home" deal for you!

The workshops, the lectures and evening events will be included in your Local-Student registration of $664.00.  You sleep at home, you eat breakfast at home, and then you come play!

You can find all of the other details about where/how to register under the Craftours Cocoon tab at the top of the blog.

I hope I'll be seeing lots of you from near AND from far!  You know, the big quilt show starts right when the Cocoon ends, so you can extend your time in Chicago and shop for MORE fabric!

I've spent the day at the computer today.  I'm hard at it.  I've written some special directions for some tools I'll have out in 2016.  I'm working on the directions for the Mystery I'm teaching in Plano in just a week -- and I've got to finish up the Mystery quilt directions for Allietare as well.  There has been ZERO sewing time today.

But I did take time out to go have lunch with a friend and her daughter, and it was so good to step away from the computer catch up just a bit.

Please remind me to do this more often.

I stopped along a busy highway yesterday on my way home from the cabin to take this photo. There is a life lesson in this little barn with its beautiful quilt block. When the trees are leafed out in summer, you cannot see it - it is hidden from the road. But when winter comes, and the world gets cold and dreary this wonderful old barn is visible and makes my heart smile. It just begged for this quote!

PS -- ALL of the 1000 blocks by Quiltmaker's Magazine are sold! I will have more in after New Years. So be watching for that announcement.

I still have LOADS of titles in my Second-Hand Rose section of the Quiltville Store where I am selling gently loved books from my own studio to make room for more things that I love. You can still get some pretty good deals there and I will be adding more titles ((And hopefully a section for antique/vintage quilts and tops as well in the future)) as I clean and clear out!

Have a great evening, everyone!

  5. The first quilting class I took with a professional quilter was with Pam Holland. She is so funny, you will be laughing throughout the class. That retreat sounds wonderful, too bad I live so far away.

Congrats to Donna, what a great Christmas present for her. Bonnie I have read the tut for Linky and am still confused as to how to do it if you don't have a blog. I noticed that the tut was made in 2012. I am probably missing something (a lot - lol), so maybe for us computer challenged out here you could dumb it down or, if possible, put a button on the side. Like I said, I know I am missing something. Can't wait for the next mystery clue. Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
