Just a Bit more Texas Show & Share!

20150105_131532

We held two days of workshops in McKinney with The Quilt Asylum, and since several of these ladies had been with me before, they KNEW to bring some show & share to get us all back excited again after taking a lunch break.

How about a Dancing Nines to start off the party?  Isn’t this fun?  She made her 9 patches as Leaders & Enders, pulling 2.5”  squares from a box sitting next to her machine as she worked on other projects.

Simply wonderful!  There is everything in here, and no attention paid as to whether “darks must be in the corners” or “lights must go here”.  It’s just 9 together however they went and it makes it more fun to look at that way, for sure!

This lovely top will become a donation quilt for the nursing home if I remember correctly.  This would be a perfect group project…9 patches could be gathered, trimmed to uniform size if necessary, and sashings simply added to two sides of each 9 patch to get the job done.

You’ll find the free pattern for Dancing Nines under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog.

I just looked through my photos, and we missed the Garland Guild Show and Share as well, so I’m sticking those in!

I love this square in a square antique that Allison brought!

That Chartreuse green in there with the other vintage  1940s prints is SO cool!

And a Grand Illusion Finish!  Hooray!!

There are 3 days worth of show and share in the slide show rounding up my time in Texas.  Click the image below if you are unable to view the slide show on your mobile device.  You’ll be taken to the photo album for viewing!  And these are worth it, not to be missed!

Show & Share, Garland & McKinney 2015

I was asleep before 9pm last night.  Up early this morning, ready to go meet with the Arizona Quilters Guild for 3 days of workshops, 2 in Chandler and 1 in San Manuel, where I’ve never been before, so this will be fun!

And if you think I’m taking on too much, don’t worry – I added 3 days of just family time to hang out, veg out and rest up before heading home next Wednesday.  A week of AZ sunshine….BRING IT ON!

  2. Enjoy Arizona this week. I live in North Carolina (Lake Norman) and the weather we are having this week is cold, cold, cold...low of 10 last night and a high of mid 20's today! By some standards I know that this is not cold, but for us Southern girls it is awful!

  3. Great show & share - amazing feather star !
Today's weather is perfect for hand quilting a wool batted project, with most of it covering the quilter as she works. 0.0 on my thermometer at 8 am this morning. All the way up to 12 at noon. But bright sunshine!
