Quilt Show, the BOARD GAME!! GIVE-AWAY!

20140827_090540
If you want a really FUN game for your retreat or small group gathering….you have GOT to pick up  QUILT SHOW, a board game by the wonderful Judy Martin and her hubby Steve Bennett!

When they sent me a sample game to try, I knew that bringing it up here for my cabin time with friends would be the perfect time to try it out.

You can have 2 to 4 players, and the game can last anywhere from about 35 minutes to an hour depending on how you play and how many players there are.

I absolutely LOVE the intro paragraph and the in-depth instruction booklet:

Award-Winning quilt makers devote considerable effort to collecting fabrics for their stashes. The shop for specific colors, often ranging into neighboring hues to achieve a nuanced, scrappy look.  If they cannot find the colors they want, they sometimes hand dye their own fabric.  They use their time and skills converting fabric into blocks, which they combine to make quilts.  Often, Quilters work on more than one quilt at a time to keep things interesting.  They may embellish their quilts with intricate quilting stitches.  The best quilters make good color choices, combine blocks skillfully, use their time well, and win generous purchase awards when they enter their quilts in shows.

20140827_090554

Do you have the skill and the patience to make the most beautiful quilts?  Do you have the cunning to enter your quilts in the right shows in order to earn the most prize money?  In short, do you have what it takes to win BEST in SHOW and become a master Quilt Maker?
Click HERE for more info on QUILT SHOW!

And just to show you how fun QUILT SHOW is to play--- I’m offering ONE GAME, a $34.95 value as a givewaway!  You could be playing QUILT SHOW with your friends at your next gathering!

The sun streaming through the trees on this morning’s hike!

I heard Tonya pull out of the drive this morning just after 6am.  I wish her safe travels down to Florida, it is going to be a long and HOT driving day for her!  We had a great time -----

Time for porch treadling!

I’ve decided today is going to be taken at a slower pace.  I need some porch time.

After cleaning up the living room mess and putting things away, vacuuming up mountains of strings and threads and snips and bits, I realized I have spent much of the past week INDOORS instead of out.  I haven’t treadled on the deck since 4th of July ---so I took some time to set up.

One block treadled!

Still so funny to think of using a people-powered machine, but still need an extension cord for my light and my iron. Hey, a girl has gotta have what a girl has gotta have.  I never would have survived in the pioneer days without electricity!

Sadie’s got her comfy spot too!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

  1. Our small group of six quilters makes our own retreats two or three times a year. One of the group has a family "cottage" (five bedrooms)that we use and it is the most fun. Evenings we often work on a large quilt-themed jigsaw puzzle. The Quilt Game would be a nice change.

  162. Hey, Bonnie, Love that you have to have an extension cord for iron and light. Maybe this is one reason some of the antique quilts points are not so sharp. Light and irons.
If I win the game, it might strike more interest up for the Bee I'm trying to get started here in my adult community. LOL
