iPhone-o-Gram! Happy Quilters on Day 2!

Finally, finally, finally!

The sun is shining down and we have blue skies in pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

During our lunch hour we got out of the building as fast as we could to walk outside and soak up some sunshine. Boy--is this much needed!

I had a lovely walk about with Marsha McCloskey, sharing stories of how we got involved in this crazy business called Quilt teaching!

So nice to get to know her personally! I am really enjoying being here with the fabulous teaching staff in the lineup this year.

My students have been busy! This morning we were working on the neutral string pieced units for Jamestown Landing –

I love watching them work – choosing each strip carefully, digging in deeper and pushing their boundaries as to what they will include in their blocks for this quilt.  They are learning what makes a great neutral, and what doesn't!

They are even sewing some strips wrong side up, because it's a better blender with the other fabrics they already have –

This afternoon we are onto half-square triangles with the easy angle ruler – it's going to be an awesome afternoon after some Show & Share!

Class is over at 4pm, we will time for a very quick dinner – and be back in the classroom for a playing with Jack's workshop that goes from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM – a very full day!

Much love from all of us!

  1. I love the Featherweight with all of the strips around it. She knows what is important. Fabric, not organization.Lol
