Wrinkles Before The Rain!

Hey everyone…..would you believe I’ve found myself with the dreaded “tickly throat” this morning?  I woke up thinking oh…it will go away…it’s just the humidity, the intermittent rain, the a/c that goes on and off…

And it could be all of the above, but I’ve been laying low today because I am headed to MAINE tomorrow and NOTHING is going to stop me!

I just grabbed these two quilt tops to get some photos before the rain started to fall again….in between the intermittent mist that has been falling all day.

I turned around to find that SOMEONE ((EMMY LOU!)) had been sleeping on TOP of the folded quilt tops!

Okay…so they are a bit wrinkly, but here they are:

Ehhhh…that will quilt out! LOL!

Borders are next, but they are going to have to wait until I return…..

In the mean time, there is tea.  And an early night to bed.  I’ll be leaving the house at 4:45am for that dreaded 6:00am flight back to Newark New Jersey on my way up to Portland, Maine!

You know you travel a lot when you start to know the folks that work the airport kiosks by face and by NAME!

I was going to try to do Quilt-Cam tonight, but I am going to save my voice and save my throat and get to bed early.

We will catch you on the rebound!

  9. Love the baby quilts! They are beautiful. My grandmother used to vicks the bottoms of our feet, the first sign of scratchy throat. Safe travels.

  14. Newark should give you a frequent-flyer discount on coffee, snacks and assorted stuff when you pass through there. LOL

  15. Your baby quilts are adorable. And here is my cure for a tickly throat - Peachtree Schnapps over ice. Sip it slowly. Works every time - or else I just don't care if my throat is still scratchy after I've had a glass!! ;-) My theory for why it works is this - if you use alcohol on a cut on your outside to kill the germs, then using alcohol to kill the germs on your inside must work too! Feel better soon.

  16. Hiya Bonnie, the two quilt tops look fine! They are definitely a set, yet different from each other. I hope you awaken refreshed and well for your second jaunt to New England. you are such a trooper!

  18. At one point in my career, I traveled to Baltimore frequently. I knew the hotel concierge by name as well as his son's name and all about his football team. I knew the best "local" places to eat. Yep, there is a time when it feels like you've been traveling too much.

  19. Travel Safe, Save your Voice. I think my Bow tie 9-patches are going to get this sashing on two sides. Then I'll have Dancing Bow Ties.

    1. Oooh I love that idea! I have a couple hundred bow ties made and waiting in baggies until I decide what to make with them. I'd love to see an in-progress pic if you have one.

  20. The green sashed is my favorite...as far as the ill feelings...drink lots of fluids to help flush away any infection.

  26. Like what you dig with the nine patches. I have a huge stack of them I made as leader/ender. Hope you nipped the sore throat in time. Spring is my favorite, but respiratory challenges come with it for me.

  27. Do you get Olive Leaf Extract in the US Bonnie? It is fantastic if you whip into it at the very first sign of a cold. Works every time for me (with a vitamin C for good measure)
