A View from the Studio!

Just posted this through instagram to facebook..but thought that those of you who don’t DO those might want to see that there is no dust settling beneath my feet today!

This is what’s on the machine…

Tumalo Trail, from Scraps & Shirttails II, pieced by my friend Charlotte for my son Jason’s college graduation.

Quilting by Mama!

I’ve only had it since December, so I’m not THAT late, am I?!

I needed a time when I was home for more than 2 days in a row to get this big quilt done!

Are you stitching this weekend?!

Be sure to like our Quiltville Friends Page on Facebook for more fun!

Congratulations to Jason for graduating college!

Very little stitching going on here since I am mostly cleaning (& popping in to catch up on blogs now & then)...my youngest graduates high school next week. We will have a house full...why do we clean before a big party, just to have to do it again afterwards?

Love the quilt!

I love the quilt Bonnie, I'm sure your son will too. I actually did sew a little while today, my foot still swells a lot when hanging down so sewing is still limited. I'm working on one in Quilt mag called Echo. I really like it but the 45 degree blocks are giving me fits. Operator error of the ruler I think but I have over half the blocks done.

I have a quilt to put together so that I can try and machine quilt it. Wish I knew more than meandering. Tonight I will make sure I have the right amount of batting and backing. Bought it last week but it pays to check. No where in the house to put it together so I have permission from the church where we stitch, knit, felt, hardanger, to spray baste the quilt, after everyone has left. Wish I had a long arm. Oh well. Love your quilt. Have Easy Street done except for a border or two. Maybe in the fall. Then for sure I will need to find a long arm professional. Too big for me to attempt.

Nice job by both of you on the quilt! Cutting some more pieces today for my Smith Mountain Morning. Also have a donation block I need to finish by tomorrow...nothing gets done without a deadline!

I love this pattern and your quilting looks great! Is that Gammill Long arm quilting machine?

I have some of my quilts since last fall.
Might sew little bit later tonight.

I am on a finishing streak. finished a round robin and the pumpkins and ghosts in my round are inspired by your wonky blocks! Just finished the center of a shop hop quilt and can now finish the borders since DH put a new foot pedal on the zigzag machine for me. Now working on a shop hop quilt from 2007! The blocks have been done, but figured out the setting last night and expect to finish it this week! It feels good to see the finished pile growing! Now need to quilt some of them and get them totally finished! Have a great holiday weekend!

Just finish 5 of 20 blocks for a quilt for the hub's birthday in Sept. Thanks for posting on the blog for those of us who don't do FB or others as it's really appreciated. Love the quilt as I'm sure Jason will.

Congratulations to your son!

Not much sewing, but a LOT of cutting. I'm doing a charming addiction swap over at Quiltingboard, and I have 1500 squares plus a set for myself (about another 750 squares) to cut this weekend. About 2/3 of the way done.

Ouch! Hope it heals fast!

I sewed. Finished hand quilting the last fan on the border of the king-sized gift quilt for daughter and SIL. Now for the center! Those fans will be larger and have wider spacing between rows, so hopefully it will go fast. Much of the hand quilting so far on this quilt has been done during and after quilt cams. Thanks for keeping me motivated, Bonnie.

Spent a couple of hours cruising E-Bay on the vintage machine section! Ummmm, I could get myself in a lot of trouble for a couple of hours enjoyment :) Then it was to the cutting table to cut more pieces for one of the quilts I am working on, after taking off the outer triangles of a sq in sq block that is not behaving! Now, think I will go find my Sunday newspaper and see what is happening in the world-yesterday! Everyone, have a great holiday!

I'm just getting ready to put a border on a small Tumalo Trails, it turned out fantastic. Was just making blocks to try the pattern with no end in site when found out I needed a baby quilt soon. After seeing your dancing nines I decided a 16 block Tumalo Trail would work great so it just needs a border. I hope to do that this evening.

The quilt is really beautiful!
I have been hand quilting a baby girl quilt for my friends great granddaughter expected in August. I am really enjoying the quilting as I am using my new quilting frame that I got for free on the Santa Fe freecycle. It is a simple frame but adjustible and I am so encouraged now that I have that frame instead of using a hoop.

Congrats to your son! College is a lot of work!

Bonnie, your quilt for Jason is great. He will love it I'm sure. I'm doing a lot of froggin on a large quilt that I double quilted. Have never done that ever before. It is no fun to spend time doing this when I could be making progress on my Easy street. I hope to finish putting the blocks into rows before I am 80! Hope your Memorial Day is quiet and thoughtful.

Such a beautiful quilt your friend made for Jason with mama's love in the quilting. I'm doing the quilting on a queen quilt that I designed and pieced for a friend. She picked the fabrics. I don't have room for a frame machine. I quilt at a Handiquilter 16 sitdown machine and that works for me.

Will be adding the last pieced border on my color challenge quilt that I started last summer on the 15 Minutes Of Play blog hosted and inspired by Victoria Finlay Wolff. I chose a solid background for my blocks that is a light cheddar yellow that I call"velveeta".
