All in the Bag! ((Give-Away!))

The staff at Quiltmaker Magazine and Creative Crafts group are spoiling us rotten!

  7. Hi Bonnie!! I have to say to my favorite dessert is ice cream. Now, if I have to pick a flavor, that's not a hard one. I love coffee ice cream with chocolate chips in it. Mmmmm. Have too much fun it Portland! It's a great city!

Cherry Sopapilla Cheesecake, Layer #1- 1/2 can of refrigerated creasant rolls on bottom of 8x8 pan (pinch seams together to make a smooth square), Layer #2- 8 oz cream cheese mixed with slightly less than 1/4 c. sugar & 1/8 tsp vanilla, Layer #3- 1 can of pie filling (I like cherry), Layer #4- other 1/2 of the creasent rolls. Pour 1/2 stick of melted butter over top & sprinkle with couple tblsp. of sugar. 350 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.yummmmmmmmmmmmm!

  9. Hi Bonnie, one of the many things I admire about you is the individual path to the top you have chosen to hew, the often scoffed at idea that to be good stewards of what we have we should use it rather than collect and then store and ignore it.
    Currently my favorite dessert is Brach's Robin Easter Eggs, malted milk balls with a thin hard coating.

    I'm about 35 miles north of you today, waving as I heal from lung cancer surgery. Life is good.

  23. I have to say I am not sure what my favorite dessert is these days- probably some square - I used to love cheesecake and ice cream but I am not eating dairy these days so probably mint or lemon squares-
    What a fun goodie bag and fabulous fun for you. The block book looks lovely- your winner will love it. It sounds like Portland is a grand place.

    My fav dessert is bread pudding with rum sauce. But I had a slice of Italian Wedding Cake at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Galveston this weekend that knocked my socks off. I bet their recipe is an original! Was luscious!!!

    Dessert - would be ice cream cake from Dairy Queen! Love those as a birthday treat - however this time I decided to start a diet over birthday week = not a smart idea. So no desserts for me right now - not even birthday cake - so prize that's calorie free would sure hit the spot!

  59. RED VELVET CAKE!!! Not with cream cheese icing but with the traditional Red Velvet cake icing that Eaton's iced their cakes with. It is buttery and creamy and to die for. When we were kids we would eat the cake part first and save the icing for last. Yummmm!! Enjoy your Block Party.

  113. *drooling* My favorite dessert? Warm chocolate chip cookies, soft and straight from the oven using Mrs.Fields' recipe with lots of butter. But without wheat, dairy or eggs, they're just baking soda, salt and sugar. So my current favorite that I can actually eat is almond milk ice cream with chopped pecans and maple syrup. Then when I run out of almond milk ice cream, I just have pecans and maple syrup, warm from the microwave. yum. Even without gluten, there are many choices.

Fresh strawberry shortcake which heralds the start of Spring and also my birthday (the 1st day of Spring) ... my mom always made homemade cake/biscuits with lusciously sweetened fresh strawberries and topped it off with homemade whipped cream ... if God invented anything more tasty He kept it for himself! LOL

  129. I LOVE Red Velvet Cake, made by me. I was taught how to make this cake from scratch by my Grandmother when I was only 11 years old. And it isn't real red velvet cake unless it has Poor Man's Whipped Creme as frosting.

    I know its simple, but I love a well made apple pie. Just warmed a bit. When the pastry is flaky and the apples are tender and sweet - hint of cinnamon. Doesn't that sound good!

  160. Ok...not sure if the last comment got onto the blog so will repeat! Pecan pie is current favorite, since I am in Ga right now, where pecans grow. But hungry for Chocolate Eclair: layers of vanilla pudding and graham crackers topped with chocolate!

  161. Just one? Dessert is my favorite part of any meal! German Chocolate Cake is the best but then I love flan, or a really good apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Apple Dumplings with sweet and sour sauce? creme brule? strawberry shortcake using home grown strawberries? I cannot pick just one! And now I am hungry!

  166. I love beignets with a cappuccino and a brownie hot fudge sundae. Or sometimes the brownie batter blizzard from DQ when they have that bad boy. Also, a deliciously moist rum cake sounds mighty tasty right about now. It's so hard to choose...

  168. Love to win things! My all time favorite dessert (which I allow myself once a year on my birthday) is a Chick-Fil-A fudge brownie accompanied by a small cup of Chick-Fil-A Ice Dream, which is about as close to homemade vanilla ice cream as I can find!

  186. Hands down ... strawberry shortcake. Heralds the arrival of spring and my birthday! Always was my "birthday cake" ... my mom would make homemade biscuits, lightly sweetened strawberries and freshly whipped cream as a topping ... pure heaven! I used to tell her that if God made anything more tasty He kept it for Himself! LOL
