iPhone-o-Gram! Live from Smith Mountain Lake!

It poured the whole way! I mean---the WHOLE WAY!

And of course by the time we were done unloading everything and feet were wet---it stopped!

Quilters are arriving and finding their rooms and room mates. I'm sharing a room with Augusta Cole, who I've met once but don't really know. I'm as nervous as a kid at girl scout camp!

Becky Goldsmith and Sara Madson are my next door neighbors!

I took a little walk once the rain was over ---before it starts up again---oh this will be fun!

Tonight is meet and greet---tomorrow is Jamestown Landing, Saturday is Smith Mountain Morning, Sunday is show and tell in the morning and we all head home Sunday afternoon!

Have a great weekend!

  1. You'll have a great time with Augusta Cole. She's got a wonderful personality and is another scrap quilter. Can't wait to take 2 workshops with her in July. Have fun.

  3. Looked at Augusta Cole's website, you should fit right in.
I am a quilt teacher and now a professional watercolor artist. Just sold a painting at the local adult ed art show, how great is that.

  4. I knew Augusta Cole in the mid-80's when VCQ first got started. She was a guest in my home, I think. Great woman, wonderful quilter! You'll get on famously!

Oh, Bonnie, you are in for such a treat. Augusta is a warm, wonderfully funny person. I've taken a couple of classes from her and enjoyed them thoroughly. She is a scrappy quilter too, so you share that in common. I believe she is also a walker, if I remember correctly. Her quilting motto is "Variety is the spice of life!"

  8. Looks beautiful. I think I would find it hard to quilt. I would be wondering the woods between rain.

Have Augusta show you how she can stitch while she power walks! I've felt inadequate ever since!
