Quilt stolen at Festival

I'm sharing this post because I think it is important to get the word out there! I hate hearing of stolen quilts, and this just puts all kinds of knots in my stomach. SHAME on whoever would do this! I hope they can get this quilt back...it's a beauty for sure.

Read the original post that caught my attention here below:

  1. Hi Bonnie. I've shared it on FB too. Makes me feel sick that someone could do something like that.

  3. It totally amazes me that someone has the *(&$# to do this..... and that they actually get it done without being noticed. This is so sad.

I hope it turns up soon.

Better yet, I hope the person who took it feels remorseful and returns it, even anonymously.

It's too beautiful to be stay hidden away somewhere and it would be a terrible shame if it was damaged inadvertently through mishandling.

BTW, there is a website for posting pics and info about stolen or lost quilts.

  5. I live in Tyler and John Sauls is well known around here for his antique quilt collection. This is a sad story and I am surprised it hasn't appeared in our local paper. His ex MIL is a very good friend of mine. Sure hope this is located soon. Sad.

It boggles my mind that someone could and did steal a quilt from a quilt show.

    The nerve!!!

  8. I donated a quilt to a nonprofit years ago. They used it at all of their conferences (the blocks were all depictions of services this agency offers). It was stolen from one of the conferences and they were afraid to tell me. Years later, I attended one of the conferences and learned of the theft and they were so apologetic. What kind of person does that? Why take a quilt that was made for and donated to an agency as a gift?
