Taylor Noel is home!

My darling new niece is home from the hospital! My nephew Mikey wrote the cutest school essay about her arrival. Poor Mikey. He is the oldest child, the only boy of 4! I know he was hoping for a brother, but he seems to have gotten over the disappointment quickly, if there ever was any.

Can you see that quilt in the background? That was pre-long arm! I loved that quilt...I totally forgot about it. It is fun for me to see my quilts all over my sibling's houses. And yes yes...poor Taylor..she is still waiting for her baby quilt..hmmm...bad busy Auntie Bonnie!

  1. How adorable is she.. oh my goodness.... Big brother is very proud of her isn't he. He writes very well for a 4 year old. Shame on you Aunt Bonnie for not having a quilt ready for her. LOL....

  2. She is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the picture. Mikey sounds like a very proud big brother! I am sure that he will be very protective of his younger sisters. Just wait till they try to start dating and have to have his approval first!

  3. Hi Bonnie-Is your book going to include how you break down a shirt? I cut up a couple yesterday, and I was wondering if you have a particular way of doping it. I assume that the cuffs, collar and button plackets are waste, right? or do you pick those apart?

  4. The cuffs and collar I even take a part and separate the layers. I throw away anything that has that fusible interfacing on it...but the collars, cuffs, plackets and pockets etc go into a "string" bin of just shirt parts for string piecing.

yes, breaking down a shirt will be in the book!

  5. I love seeing my quilts when I visit my sisters--the quilts are a daily reminder to them that I love them, and a surprise to me when I visit and become reacquainted with the quilts--I am amazed how much I forget about a quilt once it is out of my daily life.

  6. Mikey is going to be a wonderful big brother forever, the end.
She is adorable!! My second daughter had hair like that when she was born, we had barrettes in it by the time she was 2 weeks old!

  7. What a dear sweet little baby she is. I love her shock of dark hair, reminds me of my own little monkeys when they were born. And a gorgeous message from little Mike too.

  11. Now that is one seriously cute darling little baby!!!! Mommy will have to get the letter out for Mikey when they are older and he's not quite as enamored with her! That is just too cute. It would be cute to frame the picture along with the letter!
